A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"I went here for Restaurant Week to have dinner with a friend, and the experience was excellent. The staff were friendly and warm, and the service was great. I enjoyed a glass of sangria and chose the meatballs for my appetizer, the chicken for my entree (the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had, incredible), and the mango sorbet for dessert. Everything was delicious! They also took care with my allergy. Thank you for a delightful evening, I’ll definitely be back!"
"We visited Anassa a few days before Thanksgiving for a Friendsgiving dinner, and it turned out to be one of the best Greek restaurant experiences we’ve had in New York. The chicken, the lamb, and especially the vegetable soup were all incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. Their white wine selection paired beautifully with the dishes, and every single meze we tried was outstanding — fresh, authentic, and full of taste. We went as a group of five, and the service was warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The atmosphere made the night even better. We will definitely be coming back to Anassa and will continue making this a yearly Friendsgiving tradition. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Greek food and a memorable dining experience."
"Table bread was nice and crispy. Beat salad with a side of shrimp was very good. Salmon was tasty slightly undercooked but still very good. Today was a perfect weather day with a window table seat. Excellent service."
"I had a wonderful experience at this Greek restaurant. The chicken soup was comforting and flavorful, and the kebab was perfectly cooked with great seasoning. The wine selection was also impressive and paired beautifully with the meal. Overall, everything was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!”"
"I went here to eat for my friend’s birthday a few days ago. Absolutely incredible service and food! everything on the menu captured our attention that it took a minute to choose!! Our waiter was friendly. Everything my friend and I selected left us absolutely pleased, satisfied and extremely impressed!!! My friend and I BOTH ordered and LOVVEED the Lobster Raviolis!! highly recommend and would never hesitate to come back here!!! ⭐not to mention, great place for photo ops as well!!! The staircase>>> the dimly light setting makes it perfect!‼"
"I have been coming here for years. Every dish is fantastic and the atmosphere is always fun and enjoyable. It's a great spot to go to with a group of friends or family, and it is one of my go-to restaurants to take people to when they're visiting the city. My favorite dishes are the Lobster Ravioli and the Lobster Spaghetti, but truly anything you get will be tasty and filling. I have probably had every item on the menu at this point, and I have never been disappointed in the food, service (the staff is great!), drinks, or vibe. They're also great for large gatherings and events, which they do in their beautiful upstairs section and is also available for standard dining when the bottom level is full."
"This is my favorite restaurant for Mediterranean cuisine. The food is consistently good and the service attentive and friendly. In my most recent visit, my family and I went there for a late lunch. We were seated nearby the open air area at the front of the dining room. We ordered their sushi quality grilled octopus, the meatballs, the spinach pie, the beat salad and the grilled branzino. Except for the spinach pies which came out a bit too oily this time, the other dishes were cooked to perfection."
"Lovely ambience, would be great for a small party. Food and drinks are amazing. We tried many of the appetizers, cocktails, and mains, and all were top notch. The baklava was to die for. Worth a visit."
